Alicia grew up exploring the wilds of California, from her lush backyard to Big Sur and the Sierras. Higher education brought her to the East Coast and Paris, where she studied Art and Anthropology. While living in Brooklyn, her heart brought her back to California, where she is on a constant quest to make a life out of adventuring and working with her hands. She now works as a teacher, maker, assistant, volunteer, and organizer in creative capacities throughout the Bay. Her artwork investigates the natural world and how humans use it to make sense of intangible concepts such as time and memory. She also hand-carves wooden spoons. Her work can be viewed at aliciatoldi.com.
